‘HIV rates on Sask. reserves higher than some African nations’
This was the headline of a recently released report from the CBC that detailed the epidemic levels of HIV infection among First Nations people living in reserves in Saskatchewan.
The infection rates are placing a tremendous strain on the capacity of the nurses tasked with supporting infected individuals within the community. And, unfortunately, administrative record keeping is taking up a significant amount of the time that they have available to provide direct patient support.
Mobileyes is making an effort to alleviate some of this workload by developing a solution that will provide nurses and doctors on the reserve with a mobile, secured device to capture, store and distribute patient records.
The ‘Health First App’ will be provided at no cost to First Nations communities to support their care providers who treat HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis C, and Tuberculosis patients.
